Common questions about Final Draft.

Who is Final Draft for?

Final Draft is built for music producers, mix engineers, songwriters, musicians, and DJs who want their in-progress audio on iPhone or iPad without a manual export-and-send loop.

How does Final Draft store and sync files?

Final Draft watches the folders you choose on your Mac and uses your iCloud Drive to make those files available on your iPhone or iPad. The app is built around Apple's iCloud sync system rather than a separate Final Draft storage service.

Why do I need to enable iCloud Drive and have the same iCloud account logged in?

Final Draft relies on iCloud Drive to move files between your devices. For that to work, iCloud Drive needs to be enabled and your Mac, iPhone, and iPad need to be signed into the same Apple Account so Apple can sync the same app container across those devices.

I received an error about iCloud Drive is not available for this account.

This usually means iCloud Drive is turned off for the current Apple Account, the account has restrictions, or iCloud services are not fully available on the device. Check that you are signed in to iCloud, that iCloud Drive is enabled, and that the account is allowed to use iCloud Drive on that device.

I received an error “The app could not access its iCloud document container”.

This usually points to an iCloud availability or permissions issue. Make sure iCloud Drive is turned on, the same Apple Account is signed in, the device has network access, and Final Draft has had a chance to connect to its iCloud container. If the problem continues, restarting the app or device and checking iCloud settings is a good next step.

How can I expand the amount of space in my iCloud Drive?

You can increase your available iCloud storage by upgrading your iCloud plan through Apple. If you are running low on space, you can also remove files you no longer need from iCloud Drive or free up space elsewhere in your iCloud account.

Do you offer any other storage besides iCloud? Can I use Google Drive?

Not yet. Final Draft currently uses iCloud Drive for storage and sync. Support for other storage providers such as Google Drive may be possible in the future, but it is not available right now.
